A large collection of military papers issued by the East India Company, comprising copies of the General Orders issued by the Commander in Chief, Bengal, extracted from the Calcutta Government Gazette and later from a separate publication. Initially the copies are typescript transcriptions taken from the originals held in the National Archives of India, later copies are photocopies from the same source. The NAI must be acknowledged in all citations.
