Papers of J. Leslie and Angus Rose. Large collection of letter books containing correspondence relating to personal affairs, especially the management, maintenance and condition of their home in Blairgowrie, Scotland. Most letters relate to the management of personal finances in India and Southeast Asia, in particular rubber plantations in Malaya [Malaysia].

Letterbook 1: 12.12.1912 – 8.1.1914. Domestic and personal financial arrangements:

Arrangements for the return of A.L. Rose to Scotland from India; repairs, rental and arrangements for accommodation at Woodhill, a newly rented property in Blairgowrie; family dispute about the misplacement of cheques; bank correspondence; investment of capital amounts (initially £73,000); personal investments; financial and personal affairs in Delhi.

Letterbook 2: 11.10.1914 – 6.4.1920. Business and financial correspondence about Indian banking and rubber plantations in Malaya [Malaysia]:

Copies of correspondence from J.L. and A.L. Rose about business financial matters in India and Britain; Finances and management of rubber estates in Malaya [Malaysia], mostly about Glengowrie Rubber Estate, Taiping Rubber Plantation and Sungei Chinoh Estate.
