Jagmohan Mitra is a well-known composer, director and singer of Indian light music, including ‘geet’, and took his inspiration from Rabindranath Tagore to create cultural and patriotic themes. He talks generally of Indian music, and of his first-hand experience of the Calcutta riots in 1946.
